Serbia is landlocked, with no sea coast: a container from Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Yantian transits through a regional port before reaching the country by road, rail or river on the Danube. Payment, currency, and the step-by-step process for a first order
The common practice among Chinese suppliers is a deposit at order confirmation followed by a balance before shipment, paid into the supplier's business account, never a personal account. A change of bank details received by email should be verified by phone before any transfer: this type of fraud remains common in sourcing. The Serbian dinar floats against the dollar and the euro: a contract in dollars or yuan deserves close tracking of the exchange rate between order and final payment.
A first order follows a set sequence: written specifications, verified supplier, approved sample, proforma invoice with the chosen Incoterm, checked eligibility for duty elimination, certificate of origin if applicable, production follow-up, pre-shipment quality control, freight to the regional port and onward to Serbia, and customs clearance by the importer or their representative.
