Scope of the study

Documentary and regulatory study. It is not an engineering calculation note and does not engage the liability of a certified engineering office.

What the study contains
  • The real requirement, written down: use, frequency, loads, exposure, users, expected service life.
  • The public siting data held for your address, each item sourced: wind and snow zoning from the national annexes to the Eurocodes, solar irradiation from the European Commission PVGIS service, local planning thresholds, according to what the product calls for.
  • Indicative sizing: the orders of magnitude the product has to hold, and how they were arrived at.
  • The gap, line by line: what the factory offers against what the site demands.
  • Blocking points, sorted: what rules the product out, what can be corrected, what can be worked around.
  • The questions to put to the factory, drafted and ready to send.
Included
  • One product, one site, one installation.

  • No laboratory testing and no approval obtained in your name.

  • The factory offer and specification sheet, with the dimensions, materials and ratings it claims.
  • The address or district where the product will stand, and the intended use.
  • The constraints you already know: access, connections, site rules, end client brief.
  • Photographs or a plan of the place, however rough.

When it applies

  • A dome or a cabin to stand on ground the factory has never seen.
  • Equipment whose interface or steel grade has to match a machine already in service.
  • A batch of fit-out furniture for heavy use that the factory sheet does not cover.

01Is this a calculation note?
No. Documentary and regulatory study. It is not an engineering calculation note and does not engage the liability of a certified engineering office. Where a signed calculation is needed, the study says so and the file can be passed to a certified office.
02Do you travel to the site?
No, the study is documentary: it works from your documents, from public siting data and from what the factory provides. If it is the factory that needs to be seen, that is a factory visit, and a separate service.
03The factory says its product is suitable. Why a study?
Because it is answering its own specification sheet, not your ground. It knows neither your wind zone, nor your snow load, nor what you will do with the product. The study sets the two side by side and names what does not hold.
04What if the study concludes it is not feasible?
That is an answer, and it is worth its price. A documented negative verdict saves you a wasted order, a container you cannot use and months of argument with a factory.
