In this sector the applicable standard is not paperwork, it is what decides whether the product can be operated in Europe at all.
We do not stop at finding the factory: we work up the applicable standard, the constraints of the site, then check the goods before they leave. Our Chinese-speaking team in Guangzhou deals with the workshop directly.
Leisure inflatables are built mainly in Guangdong and Henan, on lines that weld coated PVC fabric at high frequency. The difference between two factories does not show in a photograph: it is in the fabric weight, the width and type of weld, the number of independent chambers and the quality of the valves. Those four points go into the specification before we compare a single price.
An operator is not buying a product, they are buying a season. The kit has to survive intensive use, be repaired on site, be deflated, stored and put back up the following year. The file therefore matters as much as the price: repair kit, wear parts, an operating manual in the local language, anchor points identified and sized. A serious factory hands these over with the goods.
Anchoring and the water body are the part no factory handles. Depth, tidal range, prevailing wind, the nature of the bed and the supervision plan govern the layout of a floating park as much as the product does. We work those constraints up front, from public documents, and set them against what the factory proposes. This is a documentary study: it is not an execution calculation and does not carry the liability of a certified engineering practice.

Often 10 to 50 pieces on a catalogue towable; single units on a bespoke structure, where the pattern and tooling carry the cost rather than the quantity.
Sample or pre-production run 3 to 5 weeks, production 30 to 45 days, then sea freight. Ordered in winter it lands for the season; ordered in spring it lands after it.
Fabric lighter than quoted, chambers that are not independent, valves of uneven quality, missing manual and repair kit, anchoring left to the buyer. The first filter is the written specification, the second is the inspection before loading.

Regulation (EU) 2023/988 applies to consumer products placed on the European market. Among other duties it requires technical documentation and an identifiable responsible operator, which falls to the importer when the maker sits outside the Union.

EN 14960 covers inflatable play equipment: design, anchoring and testing. It is what a European operator will be asked for, and it belongs in the specification, not in the conversation after delivery.
- EN ISO 25649 · floating leisure inflatables
Floating leisure inflatables fall under the EN ISO 25649 series, which classifies them and sets their safety requirements. A floating aqua park is worked up on that basis.

Manual, anchoring layout, repair kit, wear parts: not a standard, but the thing most often missing on delivery and the reason a site stands idle in high season.
- Fabric & welding
PVC fabric weight, weld width and type, independent chambers, valves: fixed in writing and verified at the factory, not discovered on arrival.

EN 14960 covers inflatable play equipment. It addresses design, anchoring and testing, and it is what you will be asked for in operation. We put it in the specification before production starts.

Floating leisure inflatables fall under the EN ISO 25649 series, which classifies them and sets their safety requirements. The layout itself depends on the water body and is handled separately.
03Can the factory size my anchoring?
Rarely, and never against your actual site. We work up the available constraints (depth, wind, bed, supervision) and set them against the factory proposal. It remains a documentary study and does not replace the calculations of a certified engineering practice.
