China Beauty Expo 2027: dates, exhibitors, cosmetics shows in China

China Beauty Expo Shanghai 2027 runs from May 12 to 14, 2027 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, 2345 Longyang Road, in the Pudong district. The show is jointly organized by Informa Markets and Shanghai Baiwen Exhibitions Co., Ltd, with the CCPIT Sub-Council of Light Industry as institutional partner, a non-governmental trade body under the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

The show claims, without specifying which edition, more than five hundred thousand cumulative visits across its various editions. It is open to international trade visitors, with an online registration page, a dedicated guide for foreign visitors and a page on visa policy, available on the official website.

The show organizes its exhibitors into two main groups. CBE Brands brings together finished products: skincare, makeup and color cosmetics, fragrance, makeup accessories, personal hygiene and care, household care products, professional beauty. This group mainly interests a buyer looking to distribute already-established brands, not to have their own manufactured.

CBE Supply, by contrast, gathers everything used to manufacture a product under your own brand: it is the part of the show to target for a private-label project. It brings together OEM, ODM and OBM manufacturers, suppliers of raw materials and ingredients, cosmetic packaging manufacturers, suppliers of pumps, valves, sprayers, caps and packaging accessories, as well as suppliers of production machinery and equipment, with an area specifically dedicated to ingredient innovation.

China Beauty Expo also holds a second edition, more focused on the Chinese domestic market, in Hangzhou: its most recent known edition ran on September 10 and 11, 2026. The 2027 dates for CBE Hangzhou had not yet been published by the organizer as of September 26, 2026.

In Hong Kong, Cosmoprof Asia is another major event for the industry, described by its organizer as the leading international beauty show in Asia. Its 29th edition runs from November 10 to 13, 2026, across two venues: the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre hosts Cosmoprof Asia from November 11 to 13, and AsiaWorld-Expo hosts its packaging arm, Cosmopack Asia, from November 10 to 12. The show is split into several segments: ingredients and OEM or ODM, machinery and packaging, hair care, fragrance and cosmetics, and nail care. A dedicated Buyer Programme makes it easier for trade buyers to schedule meetings with exhibitors. The 2027 dates had not yet been announced at the time of writing.

China Beauty Expo offers online visitor registration, a specific guide titled Visitor Guideline for Foreigners to CBE, and a page dedicated to visa policy, all available on the show's official website. The exact entry cost for a visitor who has not pre-registered was not publicly detailed for the 2027 edition at the time of writing: it is better to complete online registration before departure rather than rely on paying on site.

Mainland China and Hong Kong apply separate entry rules: a trip combining CBE in Shanghai and Cosmoprof Asia in Hong Kong means checking the visa conditions for each destination separately before booking flights. As with any professional trade show in China, an invitation letter from the organizer, obtained after registration, generally supports the business visa application filed at the consulate.

A cosmetic product spotted at a Chinese booth cannot be sold in Europe without complying with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Two obligations must be settled before the first serious order, not after: appoint a responsible person established in the European Union, who will answer for the product's compliance, and arrange for the product to be notified on the European CPNP portal before it is first placed on the market, with, among other things, its category and the possible presence of nanomaterials and substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction.

A Chinese factory, however reliable, can never act as the responsible person from China, for lack of an establishment in the Union. Ask right at the booth whether the supplier can provide the composition and safety data needed for the product information file that the responsible person will have to compile and keep for ten years: without this data, notification cannot happen.

For bottles and packaging bought separately, a second obligation applies on the European side: extended producer responsibility for packaging, which is specific to each Member State. Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste, which entered into force in February 2025 and has applied since August 12, 2026, replaces the 1994 directive on the subject and now harmonizes this obligation across the whole Union.

A booth showing a finished product does not always give access to the actual manufacturer: always ask whether the contact is the factory or a trading company, and get the minimum order quantity, the stated production lead time and the incoterm used clarified. These elements vary widely from one exhibitor to another within the same hall, particularly between CBE Supply and CBE Brands.

For a private-label project, ask for a reference sample before any commitment, along with the technical data sheet for the formula and the packaging material: these documents feed directly into the compliance file the responsible person will need to build on the European side. Finally, note whether the exhibitor accepts contractual exclusivity on packaging or branding specific to your label, a point that gets negotiated before the order, never after.
